Things Like This Make Me So Proud to Be An Attorney
Don’t you just LOVE friends? Like my dear sweet Finding Grace buddy (who has become a friend in real life too!). This is the email I woke up to. THANKS for making me laugh, Em. JUST what I needed to start a relatively stressful day. (Make me so proud to be a lawyer.) THANKS, everyone, for the prayers and encouraging words too. We’re all doing OK here. The unknown is a little challenging–but we have a sweet sense of the presence and care of God. And we’re SO grateful to have access to such world-renown medical care. (Oh, and no worries about hospitals and me, Martha. I’m kind of the…

Albie Duncan
Have you ever met/encountered-in-real-life someone REALLY famous? It hasn’t happened that much to me and I never thought I’d find it all that big of a deal. (I’ve always thought that big-time fame must not be that great of a thing–other than the good you can do because of it.) But apparently, I get star-struck and glassy-eyed with the rest of ’em: – Once I walked right past Daniel Barenboim on Michigan Avenue right outside of Orchestra Hall. I completely froze and with my jaw dropped could only blurt out, “Maestro!” He smiled in return. – Dan Quayle’s wife, Marilyn, and her many Secret Service agents, walked right past me…

Thomas the Tank Engine for GIRLS!
My original Thomas the Tank Engine for GIRLS blog post continues to receive a LOT of traffic. I really think there is a HUGELY untapped market here and if I had money to invest (or any related SKILLS–like the ability to SEW), I’d jump in and start advertising on ebay or something. C’mon Thomas! Where’s the PINK! Give us some LADY & Gordon & James & Percy in cool PASTELS or frilly skirts. We’d buy ’em! We’d wear ’em! You could be rich(er) and our girls would be thrilled. PS To the recent commenter … no, I don’t think I could sell you her Thomas the Tank Engine Sun…

Welcome to my blog!
I’ve been receiving quite a few personal emails from people who are visiting my blog this week for the first time, so I thought I’d give a little “tour” to (hopefully!) introduce some key components to you. – FrapprMap & discussion group: In the upper right-hand corner, you’ll see a button that says, “Where are we?” and a link to our discussion group too. If you would like to visually SEE where we are located, the FrapprMap is a fun, free tool that you can join. I’ve also tried to make our dialogues more convenient for you by setting up a discussion board that allows YOU to choose the topics…

On the Radio with Rev. Dr. Ligon Duncan
I really have a VERY hard time listening to ANY recording of my voice — radio, conference workshop, plenary, etc. (And it’s even worse with television interviews! Ick!) 🙂 BUT … Fred thought that this interview I did with Rev. Dr. Ligon Duncan (of First Presbyterian Church, Jackson MS) might be a blessing to you all. So here it is for your listening enjoyment (and hopefully for your edification and encouragement too). Joy to you! — t

Camping in the Living Room
Just for fun, we put up our tent in the living room. It’s been a blast cuddling in there — reading books on top of pillow piles, chuckling at Choza’s response (we were surprised that she wanted to be in there with all of us), etc. etc. We’ll have to take it down by Tuesday because our Bible study would have no place to meet … but I thought you might get a chuckle or two out of some pics. Hope so! Love ya, t
