Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Rio Rancho & Desert Springs Church
I simply cannot imagine a more hospitable, genuinely friendly, warm welcome than the one I just received from the ladies of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) of Rio Rancho and Desert Springs Church. There are two churches working so hard to serve the women at this event because when the OPC’s planned (tiny!) women’s event jumped from “35 or 50” registrants to 250+, the women of Desert Springs Church said, “Have the event here! Our facility can hold that many people and our men and women can help with all of the logistics of serving a bigger event.”
Can you say gracious, servant-oriented, people? I just LOVED watching them happily stuffing registration packets, creating nametags, setting up snack areas, the booktable, the meals area, and sanctuary, etc. etc. I tried to help! But they were so organized and focused and in the zone, that mostly, I just got to sit back, do my prep, and enjoy.
I’m still very nervous (hate to use the word fearful. hah.) about my part of serving—the actual content of the “Fear Not! retreat”. I’m not curled in the fetal position, a ball on the hotel room floor or anything. (Growth!) But please do pray for me as this material is still relatively new to me and I really have to concentrate. Hard.
With that, I’ll sign off with the photo art that Dave and I received from Baker for ol, “Redeeming Church Conflicts“. Makes it all feel very real! May 1 will be here before we know it.
Have a great weekend!
Yours,
Tara B.
