Thanks for your continued prayers …
I really appreciate the texts and emails and comments you have left for me letting me know you’re praying for me and for my family as we are facing some hard conversations (and eventually some hard decisions) about home healthcare, assisted care, etc. etc. The honeymoon phase (hah!) of the immediate medical crisis week has passed and we’re all trying to just get as much accomplished as we can, while staying patient and kind toward one another too. You know family stuff! Parts are great. Parts are hard. Nothing like family to bring out the best and the worst in us.
Happily, I’ve had HOURS AND HOURS of organizing and cleaning away to help out—so that’s great and I know it’s a huge relief to my mom and stepdad. Unless you really LOVE it (which I do), clothes and misc. stuff and suitcases and bags/purses/shoes/personal care items and papers and photos and technology stuff and art stuff and, well, life stuff in big ol’ piles can just feel totally overwhelming. But it’s really my happy place to sort sort sort and order order order, so I’m glad I can help out in that way.
Tomorrow we’re meeting the home nurses, dietitian, occupational therapist (for breathing), and social worker (for elder care/disabled care options and resources in the community—my mom is officially now designated as ‘homebound’ so that means we need to learn about new things to help her). And Wednesday will be the big doctor day. So if all goes well, I may be home as early as Thursday.
Thanks again for praying! Hope your week is going well.
Love and blessings,
Tara B.
